I truly can’t imagine this journey without her by my side, guiding and inspiring me every step of the way. Together, we relish the experience of attending Broadway shows and exploring educational programs at places like the MET. I absolutely love being a dad to my two incredible kids, Isabelle and Isaac. I spend all my time with them because, let’s be honest, it’s priceless—and I’m still waiting for them to start paying me back for all those toys! My love for food runs deep, and it’s not just because I have a never-ending craving to make up for my starvation days back in Vietnam. Travel is another passion of mine. As historian Thomas Fuller once said, “He who travels much knows much”—which is why I say, if you can’t find me at home, check the nearest airport! I’ve got a soft spot for Shanghai and Hong Kong; those cities are buzzing with energy! Back in the day, I played soccer without shoes, and let me tell you, those were some intense moments with Mother Nature! Once I landed in the United States, I traded in my soccer ball for a basketball, and now I’m all about tennis. Who knew that keeping fit could involve so many detours?
When I was a kid, I used to play Chinese chess with my brothers—let’s just say I didn’t just play; I strategized like a general on a battlefield! I’d plan six or seven steps ahead and then casually watch them make their moves, thinking, “Oh, bless their hearts, they have no idea what’s coming!”
I’m all about challenging my brain, so I also delve into games like Mahjong, Sequence, and Texas Hold’em. Honestly, I believe these games keep me sharp—after all, if I can outsmart my brothers in Chinese chess, I can definitely keep my wits about me when it comes to deciding whether to play the ace or the two! Who knew gaming could be the secret to my genius?
These days, I’m a bookworm, gobbling up knowledge like it’s my favorite snack. Not only do books educate me, but they give me insight into human behavior—like why I can never find my keys when I’m running late! I’m an extrovert, which means I thrive on gatherings with friends. Occasionally, you might find me indulging in a nice cold beer, but don’t worry, it’s all in the name of “socializing!”
